CARNIVAL, CÁDIZ 3 TO 13 MARCH
Another excuse to celebrate! Don't miss the largest carnival in Cádiz with street bands, processions and amazing costumes. Cádiz becomes one big street party when thousands of people take to the streets on both weekends wearing themed costumes making fun of Spanish celebrities, politicians and current events. The 2011 event lasts ten days, from the 3rd to the 13th of March, and is a great chance to give any participant a new outlook on the carnival. Much of the humor and witticism of Cádiz comes from music and drama. There are several types of groups that use the carnival as a platform for a broad range of satire and entertainment. The Choirs, as you might guess, are groups of singers whose mission is to cheer those on the streets; usually hilarious, sometimes sombre, they are almost always very entertaining. The Comparsas, by comparison are a more serious and talented type of singing group. Romanceros are loners, flying solo in a brave mission to entertain fellow partygoers. The Quartets - which by most accounts, don't always have four people - are a kazoo wielding and stick beating group of entertainers. One of the most climactic moments of the festival occurs during the official contest between these performers, but of course it's up for debate whether it's better to see them on stage or close up in the streets. SPANISH MOTO GRAN PRIX JEREZ CIRCUIT 1 TO 3 APRIL

Circuit Jerez is primarily known as the venue for the Spanish MotoGP.
Built in 1986 and hosting its first Grand Prix one year later, the circuit of Jerez is now one of the most popular MotoGP venues and the focal point for a city fanatical about sport. Jerez is blessed with consistently good weather and beautiful scenery, its numerous grandstands providing the perfect viewing facilities for up to 250,000 spectators. With two alternative road circuits (4,423m and 4,428m), which were resurfaced during 2005, Jerez is a popular venue used by many race teams for testing throughout the year, whilst its recently updated corporate and media facilities have proven to be a popular addition to the complex. Other facilities such as the control tower and pit boxes have also been vastly improved. To learn more visit: www.circuitodejerez.com
EASTER WEEK (SEMANA SANTA) 17 TO 24 APRIL 2011

Easter Week (Semana Santa) in Arcos or Jerez is another memorable experience. Every village, town and city in Spain performs this solemn procession: Hermandades, or religious brotherhoods dating back centuries, carry a heavy wooden float to display their antique Virgin or The Passion of Christ. They move rythmically and majestically through the narrow, cobbled streets to the beat of a slow, heavy drum. There follow the eerily clad penitents, whose long robes and tall conical hats take you back to a more austere Spain. To remind us of the setting of this Easter celebration, Roman soldiers also take to the streets. The processions take place throughout the day and night for 7 days and attract huge crowds to Arcos' narrow streets. To learn more visit: www.arcosdelafrontera.es
HALLELUJAH BULL FESTIVAL , ARCOS DE LA FRONTERA 24 APRIL

Easter Sunday
The Holy Week comes to and end on Resurrection Sunday. Although the Cofradía de la Soledad owns a figure of the Resurrected Jesus, a 1575 image by Pedro de Heredia, this remains in the San Pedro Church. Instead, the procession for the last day of Easter celebrations shows the baby Jesus figure, dressed in Glory and with his flag of triumph. This festive day is completed with the Hallelujah Bull, with two bulls running through the streets of Arcos. To learn more visit: www.arcosdelafrontera.es
CROSSES OF MAY FESTIVAL, ARCOS FRA , 30 APRIL AND 1 MAY

In the fairground, many bars are opened from 28 September until 2nd October, to celebrate St. Michael's Day, the patron saint of the city, with plenty of music and dancing along with amusements rides and all the fun of the fair. The Feria included a horse spectacle as well as a chance to admire some local horsemen and women and the fabulous "sevillanas" dance. It's the main festival of the year in Arcos de la Frontera. Arcos de la Frontera becomes a live Nativity Scene. The streets of the old part of town become a large tableau vivant. Over 20 different scenes recreate the birth of the Messiah, in different parts of the monumental part of the town, with hundreds of the local people enacting the Biblical characters producing a beautiful and emotional show.

This Christmas we will enjoy the beauty and singularity of the Live Nativity Scene in Arcos de la Frontera, declared of Tourist interest for Andalucia, not only because it takes place in one of the most beautiful village of Spain but for the public massive assistance that swamp the streets of this locality.
The representation it’ll take place on the December the 17th at 18:00 hrs with the entrance of the three Kings to the Cuesta del Belen street to conclude at 23:30 H.
